POST GRADUATE IN LIBRARY NETWORKING
The Department of Library & Information Science please to announce ONE YEAR PG Course in Library Networking.
It is a matter of pride and pleasure that, The DLIS of Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar has been selected by the Government of Gujarat to start a new course from next academic year 2009-2010.
Looking to electronic proliferation in entire library activity, it is an acute need for the upcoming library professionals to be prepared with not only the basic skills of library operations but with various soft skills also.
Besides of Digital Library, Library Networking is such soft skill that is essentially required in all young generation of library professionals. This course will be an opportunity for the library professionals those who want to shape their prospective future in the field.
STRUCTURE:
Duration: One Year (Two Semesters)
Fees: 14,100/- Per Semester
Intake: 10
Eligibility: M.L.I.Sc. Or Equivalent
Admission will be based on performance in common entrance test conducted for this purpose and merits of LIS Degree
Last Date for submission of Admission form: 8th June, 2009.
Common Entrance Test will be held on 20th June, 2009 at DLIS, S.P.University,
Vallabh Vidyanagar.

About the Course

In keeping with the demand for skill development in Library and Information Science with the application of DLISc, S.P. University has developed a one years Post Graduate in Library Networking, a specialized course in Library and Information Science which will be offered from June 2009.
The programme aims at developing professional competence of the Library and Information Professionals in an automated and networked environment. The programme will provide practical exposure to enhance technological skills of the learners for independently developing or managing a computerized library and Library Networking LAN and WAN.
Objective of the Course
To access global electronic information with high precision in a cost-effective manner.
To initiate, improve and coordinate automation and networking activities of a library
